My Approach
What working together actually looks like
I didn’t start out planning to become a therapist who talks about the body as much as the mind. That came later, after 25+ years on a yoga mat, teaching people to notice what their nervous system already knew before their thoughts caught up. Somewhere in there, I realized: healing isn’t just something we think our way through. It’s something we feel our way through, too.
That’s the heart of how I work. We won’t just talk about your pain — we’ll help your body learn it’s safe to put some of it down.
Trauma-Informed & Mindfulness-Based
Every session is grounded in trauma-informed care, which simply means: your pace, your pace, always your pace. Nothing here rushes you toward a version of “better” that isn’t actually yours. Mindfulness is woven through the work — not as a technique bolted on, but as a way of noticing what’s real in your body and mind right now, rather than only what you think should be there.
Whole-Person, Not Just Symptoms
I bring in guided imagery, somatic awareness, and energy-based tools alongside traditional talk therapy, because healing rarely comes from one direction only. If you’re facing cancer or chronic illness, this often means making room for grief, fear, identity loss, and hope — sometimes all in the same session, sometimes all in the same breath.
Spiritually Respectful, Never Prescriptive
I meet you exactly where you are — whatever your background, beliefs, or spiritual orientation, or lack of one. I bring a spiritually respectful lens to this work: you don’t need to share my beliefs, or have any, for this to matter here. What matters is that you’re treated as a whole person — body, mind, and whatever else makes you you.
What a Session Might Include
Depending on what you need that day, our time together might involve straightforward talk therapy, a guided visualization, a grounding or breathing practice, or simply space to feel something all the way through without being rushed past it. There’s no fixed formula — the tools serve you, not the other way around.
